Students who major or minor in Religion study the role of religion in human culture in historical as well as contemporary forms. Diverse emphases in the study of religion at TCU include: Biblical Studies (Jewish and Christian); the history of Christianity, its structures and institutions; theology and the development of Christian thought; ethics, social and moral issues; the psychology of religion; Asian and Near-Eastern religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam); African religions; religion in the arts; and religion in contemporary society. A major in Religion requires students to explore these areas under the guidance of excellent teachers.
